Judy Handler and Mark LevesqueHusband and wife duo Judy Handler and Mark Levesque blend Brazilian, Latin American, swing, gypsy, classical and folk music influences to create their sophisticated and expressive arrangements. Audiences respond with great enthusiasm to their extraordinary sound and the uplifting spirit of their music. They have performed over 1,000 concerts together throughout the Northeast and Midwest. They have recorded several award-winning CDs.

Maria Haro & Vera de AndradeThe Brazilian duo of Haro/Andrade has performed throughout Latin America. Maria Haro, born in Uruguay is considered one of the leading guitarists of Brazil. Brazilian Vera de Andrade, guitarist, composer, director and producer is originally from Rio de Janeiro.

Gohar Vardanyan - Armenian classical guitarist

Gohar Vardanyan

Armenian guitarist Gohar Vardanyan has performed throughout the United States for numerous guitar societies, universities, and arts organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and the Grand Canyon, Sierra Nevada, and New England Guitar Societies.

Ms. Vardanyan began studying the guitar in her native Armenia at the age of five under the careful guidance of her father, Vardan Vardanyan. At the age of eight, she gave her first public performance and also appeared on Armenian National Television. Ms. Vardanyan holds a Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School where she studied with Sharon Isbin, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music where she studied with Manuel Barrueco.

Music School Showcase - Mannes College of Music

Cubist GuitaristMannes, celebrating its 94th year as a classical music conservatory, was forerunner in establishing a performance degree in classical guitar. Under the direction of Michael Newman, a classmate of NEGS President and alumnus James Baird, Mannes produces some of the finest young talented guitarists in the world.

This season, Mannes boasts an international group of students to perform for NEGS in May, from the United States, Brasil, South Korea, Peru and Turkey.
